UMV to present recent studies on cup-stock with water based barrier coating and the impact of application technologies

The presentation will be held at TAPPICON2021 Coating & GraphicArts, Session6, Wednesday October, 6^th 08:00 EST, 14:00 CET

The study will give input to questions like:

• How the metering and application technology makes a difference in the barrier characteristics
• If it’s possible to meet the requirements concerning barrier properties with existing machines?
• What barrier properties can be achieved with conventional coaters or/and with smaller modifications?

This will provide a guideline on how to achieve optimized coating application with respect to both barrier and production economy.  This should pave the way to a faster way forward towards a new generation of single use cups.
